In 1877 John Horn purchased part of 'Cory Vale' that was originally granted to John Cory in 1824. John Horn and his family crossed the Allyn River where the low-level bridge is now located at 'Horns Crossing' on the road of the same name. It is just upstream from the junction of the Allyn and Paterson Rivers
The crossing place has apparently been called 'Horns Crossing' since the late 1800s according to a descendant of John Horn. It is not far from the village of Vacy.

My thanks to a descendant of John Horn for providing the information on Horns Crossing.
